Happy New Year ~ A Photoshoot

Hey guys! Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a great holiday season. I've abandoned all semblance of schedule somehow, but I figured I should go ahead and post my first post of 2026! I was spoiled this Christmas and received a new lens for my camera, which I'm overjoyed about. Obviously I had to test it out with my girl Min-Ji. This is a very short photoshoot, but it's all I've got to share so far! I'm looking forward to many, many more photoshoots in 2026, though!

Let's get into it!

Miss Min-Ji! It's been... surprisingly, 11 months since I've shared an MJ photoshoot, so I think I can safely post this without feeling like Min-Ji is running the whole blog. (She is, even if it's been a minute since you've seen her.)

This is such a common thing I point out on this blog, but I made her dress! The fabric is, in my opinion, to die for, and needed to become something cute. I thrifted the fabric, as well as the pattern for the dress, the lace on the collar, and the buttons! The buttons are actually Victorian era or early 1900s black glass, and I thought it would be cool to add an antique piece to the dress. I think they help break up the busy fabric, too.

I really felt like I needed more practice with this lens when I took these pictures. It's different from my old lenses, and about 2 pounds heavier. 😂 But I don't think these turned out bad! I *think* I've mostly gotten the hang of the lens by the time I'm writing this, though...

It's so hard to tell whether or not I like a picture based on what it looks like on my Chromebook, but I think I like this angle.
Did anyone do anything fun for New Year's? My best friend and I hung out and watched Captain America: The Winter Soldier, which might be the first Marvel movie I've watched in its entirety. I liked it though. :)

I love the bokeh being in the middle of the photo. It feels well-placed.

And one last one! I did a close-up because my new lens is a telephoto lens and I wanted to test the zoom. I was sitting several feet away when I took this one. Also ahhhh, don't the colors of the dress just look so good on Min-Ji?? Totally worth burning my fingers while ironing for.

That's all for now! Have a great week and remember to eat your veggies! Bye! <3
