Barbie

    The Barbie Movie changed my life. It came out at a really specific point in my life, and I just think it spoke something that my teenage self needed to hear in those years. I felt so seen in who I was, and I think it'll always be so special to me. I've always found Barbie's brand history so interesting, and I collect Barbie alongside American Girl and Monster High. I'm mostly interested in classic 1960s Barbie, so with the hype for the Barbie Movie and my interest in old Barbie, I totally freaked out when AG announced their first Barbie Collab doll in 2023. I always told myself I'd buy a collector doll if I liked her enough, and this was definitely the doll I didn't know I needed. I bought Barbie the moment she was up for sale, and it was so worth the year-long wait for her to arrive. Barbie officially made it into my collection in September 2024. Despite being a collector doll, my Barbie is unboxed, and I've even changed her outfit and redone her hair before (it's SO pretty down). I figure, what's the point of spending $300 on a doll if you can't enjoy her?? Much like my white body dolls, Barbie is one of my display dolls, and does not have a character role in my collection. She's most likely to be posted on my blog in a photoshoot.
