A flea market find

Hi everybody! Firstly, I should apologize for my random posting lately. I’ve missed what? Like, 3 Mondays? The end of the school year was super busy and I unfortunately didn’t have the time to finish awesome posts for you guys. I’m looking at my offline posts and there are quite a few, so it wasn’t for a lack of inspiration. It’ll be alright, though, because I’ve got a post for you guys today! Even though it’s not Monday. Actually…. What day is it? You know what, it doesn’t matter. What I’m trying to say here is, I found something cool in a flea market, and, per Just Dolling tradition, I want to show you guys!

Firstly, I got this AG craft kit, mostly for the tote bags.

It was funny because I was walking into the toy area and I said to myself, “If they don’t have AG stuff here, I don’t know what will—-“ and there it was. My mom bought it for me because…. Reasons you will find out soon…

So then, we went to a different flea market. I was walking past a sort of trashy booth very slowly. My mom and brother had already passed it, when I saw some very familiar stars in the back, half hidden by whatever stuff was in front of it. Excitedly, I exclaimed, “I found the goods!” as I scooted the box out into the open. I checked the price—- $60—- and still not knowing what exactly was inside, my mind began to wonder. What could it be? Marie-Grace’s vanity?…

Does that paint the picture for you?

There was tape on the box, although it wasn’t taped shut. It peeled off, but somehow the tape on the lid didn’t get peeled off… oops. So, do you want to see what I found inside? Of course you do! But, I think you need to read approximately 3 more paragraphs before we get to that. Just kidding.

Actually, I wasn’t kidding. I’m going to keep talking. Turns out, everything in that booth was 50% off, meaning this mystery box was $30. I didn’t want to spend my money initially, because I’m saving for… something you’ll find out later. But it’s amazing what 50% off does, isn’t it?

Ok, that’s enough. I’ve tortured you guys for far too long. Here’s a little peek at the contents of the box:

I know, you can clearly see Molly’s school desk. So much for torturing my readers with agonizing and suspenseful anticipation. 🤦‍♀️

So, here’s the desk! The original styrofoam and silica packets were in the box when I pulled it out, so I think this desk is pretty darn close to new. Something about the condition it’s in is so oddly satisfying.

The top flips up and the chair swivels. I love it! Please ignore the extra string of fairy lights I have up right now. It’s purely for aesthetic purposes and I know it’s everywhere. The only problem I foresee with this desk is that, since the chair swivels, Molly is going to abuse that. You guys know how she is. You can’t trust her around swivel chairs.

But wait! There’s more! Did you guys read that in a tv announcer voice? I hope you did, because that’s the only appropriate way to read it. Inside the big box was another box! Actually, two smaller boxes! And inside of those boxes were more boxes! Well, kinda.

One box had Molly’s school supplies! I’ve been wanting this set, but it costs $42 new and I’ve been holding off. On its own, this was a score! This version of the set is a little different than the current one because it has a book and report card. The pencils and eraser are real!

Some of the paper pieces have been written on, but I can tell the set hasn’t gotten much use. The bag’s straps would be more worn out if it had been played with a lot.

Alongside the pieces to the set, there were a bunch of pamphlets and stuff that all of the accessories I got today would have come with.

Perplexingly enough, there were also 2 Pleasant Company pamphlets. One of them even shows Moly’s paper bag lunch set and the C. F. Payne illustrations. Although, technically, they have the copyright 1999 which would make them Mattel. The boxes for all my haul date to probably around Kaya’s release and the launch of Beforever. The other pamphlets and cards are copyrighted 2006.

Moving on, the other box contained Molly’s lunch box! See what I meant about a box inside a box that was in a box?

So exciting! I have Courtney’s lunchbox and really want Kit’s, so Molly’s is a great addition.

       The napkins are brand-new, sealed.

At first, I thought some food was missing. From what I’ve seen, there’s supposed to be another celery stick, carrot, and sandwich half. But, looking at the pamphlets, the lunchbox is shown with the same amount of food. I’m thinking this must be a less-documented version of her lunchbox that the AG wiki failed to mention. This doesn’t seem like enough food to me, so I guess Molly just got hungry and ate some of her lunch during class.

That’s my find from today! I’m really excited about it and can’t believe it was on sale! As some of you probably know, I recently found the C. F. Payne illustrated version of Molly Learns a Lesson, so this whole haul feels perfect. I’ll be posting more, I promise, but for now, I hope you enjoyed! Let me know if you’ve had any good hauls or finds recently in the comments. Have a great day and remember to eat your veggies! Bye!

    1. It was cool! None of it looks like it’s ever been played with for more than 5 minutes.
Very true. Except when you accidentally make yourself sick because you were swiveling so fast.
