Before the Race - My Submission for Dollympics Week 2
Oh gosh, today's post is a mess. I procrastinated so long on it lol. It ended up being super short, so I hope it still qualifies as a "photostory" hehe...
That being said, I decided to cover mountain bike racing, which is a very popular sport where I live, weirdly enough. I wanted to cover the events before a race, but I've never actually done any racing sports before so I probably failed somewhat at that *ahem*...
Please enjoy.

I walked my bike up to the trail, surveying rough terrain. To a lot of people, the overgrown forest trail was someplace a person could never dream of riding a bike, but for me, it was perfect. I’ve always loved riding bikes, but I’d take the thrill of an uneven landscape over a smooth sidewalk any day. I craved something about that adrenaline rush. That’s why mountain biking is the perfect sport for me.
In fact, I had a race the next day. I couldn’t wait, but my competitive spirit left me feeling very anxious for my performance in the race. I decided to calm my nerves the best way I knew how— by going mountain biking, of course.

I admired the peaceful woods around me. My race the next day was going to be on a track specially designed for mountain bike racing, which while exciting, didn’t have quite the scenery that surrounded me now.
I’ve always felt the most in my element in nature, and I felt grateful for Piney Grove’s landscape. Everything was so peaceful.
When I was biking, I felt like I was flying. The world around me seemed to stop, and I got lost in the excitement.
Soon, I realized that the sun was beginning to hang lower in the sky. I decided to call it a night and head back home.
I knew I would crush my race the next day.

Please remember to always ride with a helmet on. Also, yes, I know, the bike I used wasn't a mountain bike, but it's the only doll bike I own and I had to go with it.
That's it for now! Have a great week and remember to eat your veggies!
