Wasteland, Baby! ~ A Lyrical Photoshoot
Guess who's procrastinating on her next Dollympics entry and spent all of yesterday sewing and taking doll pictures.
Oh right, it's me.
Anyway, I decided to do a lyrical photoshoot this time, since it's been a while since I've done one, and they always seem to be pretty popular. Plus, I've been wanting to do a lyrical photoshoot to a Hozier song for a while now. When I made this shirt with the Wasteland, Baby! album cover on it, I thought it was the perfect excuse to do a lyrical photoshoot with the song that the album gets its name from. Also, I finally used a doll that's not Min-Ji, so that's a bonus. I hope you enjoy!
I'm not obsessed with Hozier, you are.
By the way, here's the song for your convenience.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
All the fear and the fire
Of the end of the world
Happens each time a boy falls in love with a girl
Happens great, happens sweet
Happily, I'm unfazed here, too
Happily, I'm unfazed here, too
Wasteland, baby
I'm in love
I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
All the things yet to come are the things that have passed
Like the holding of hands, like the breaking of glass
Like the bonfire that burns, that all words in the fight fell to
Like the holding of hands, like the breaking of glass
Like the bonfire that burns, that all words in the fight fell to
Wasteland, baby
I'm in love
I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
And I love too
That love soon might end
That love soon might end
Be known in it's aching
Shown in the shaking
Lately of my wasteland, baby
Shown in the shaking
Lately of my wasteland, baby
Be still, my indelible friend
You are unbreaking
Though quaking
Though crazy
That's just wasteland, baby
And the day that we'll watch the death of the sun
That the cloud and the cold and those jeans you have on
That the cloud and the cold and those jeans you have on
Then you'll gaze unafraid as they sob from the city roofs
Wasteland, baby
I'm in love
I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
And I love too
That love soon might end
That love soon might end
And be known in it's aching
But shown in the shaking
Lately of my wasteland, baby
But shown in the shaking
Lately of my wasteland, baby
Be still, my indelible friend
You are unbreaking
Though quaking
Though crazy
That's wasteland, baby
And when the stench of the sea and the absence of green
Are the death of all things that are seen and unseen
Are the death of all things that are seen and unseen
Not an end, but the start of all things that are left to do
Wasteland, baby
I'm in love
I'm in love with you
I'm in love with you
That's it

I'm seriously obsessed with these photos! (And this album, but that's a discussion for a later time.) I know how coveted Marie-Grace is, but I still feel like she's underrated. She's personally one of my favorite dolls to photograph. Plus, she really rocks modern clothes better than you would expect.
As always, have a wonderful week and remember to eat your veggies! Actually, since we're on the topic of Hozier, I should say "remember to eat your young!" (That's going to make so many people who don't listen to Hozier very concerned for my health lol.) Bye! <3
Gorgeous pictures! I haven't heard much--or anything, really--from Hozier except Too Sweet when it was trending. Maybe I'll check him out, though! And yes, the post procrastination is soooo real. Painfully real.
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteOh man, don't even get me started because I honestly might start fangirling. 😂 I loveee Too Sweet (look, it was genuinely stuck in my head for a week and I know all the lyrics), but in my opinion, it's definitely nowhere near his best, so I definitely recommend him because he literally has no bad songs.
Haha yes, procrastination is a part-time job sometimes.
Marie-Grace looks so gorgeous in these! I love her skirt and the flowers surrounding her🤩
ReplyDeleteThank you so much! That skirt is one of my favorite pieces to use!
DeleteThese photos are so beautiful! I don't know much by Hozier, but I'll admit you've got me intrigued with this photoshoot. I've been trying to expand my music taste lately. Lovely photoshoot!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Diamond! Hehe, it's my evil plan to get everyone to listen to Hozier. (Seriously though, I really do recommend him.)
DeleteThese photos are so good, Marie-Grace looks adorable! I don't listen to Hozier, but these lyrics have intrigued me, maybe your evil plan is working lol!
ReplyDeleteThank you!! I personally think Hozier is very talented with his lyrics, so I'm glad my evil plan is working hehe!
