Lots of Love ~ A Photoshoot

Hey guys! I'm very happy to have a post for y'all this week! It snowed just over a week ago, and I got almost a full week off school (they made us go back on a Friday, isn't that cruel?), but I was SO antsy to take doll pictures. My problem was that I didn't want to go out into the cold. 😅 So, on Sunday, with snow still on the ground, I decided to do an indoor photoshoot! My problem was that I didn't know what kind of photoshoot to do, so, since it's now February, I went with a Valentine's-ish vibe.
Enjoy!

Let me start by saying that I LOVE Miss Mars' outfit!! I dressed several of my dolls over the snow break, and Delmar was one of the ones that received an outfit change. I kinda just threw a dress I made over some jeans because that's what I see the cool fashionable people on Pinterest do. It definitely isn't the most appropriate outfit for the weather we're having. Can you tell I want spring?

Her card says "spread love year-round." I was trying to decide what to put on the card, and wanted to do something universal. It's so important to me to remember that love is a more powerful tool than hate, especially when I'm feeling uncertain. Love comes in so many more forms than just the romantic love that Valentine's Day celebrates, and I really wanted to spread that message with this photoshoot.

I ended up really happy with the editing on these photos. My camera was being so weird and wouldn't focus? And of course the lighting was an annoyance. But the editing is gorgeous imo. I've been trying to branch out into more dramatic color grading, and this feels like a step in the right direction. I had to save it as a preset on Lightroom. :)

As you've seen by now, I was too lazy to pop into Photoshop and edit the rubber band on her wrists out. Also I don't know what the white spot on her hand is. Those white spots just kinda appear on my dolls sometimes... I THINK it's paint from my dollhouse. *shrug* (I'm writing "shrug" because I hate my Chromebook's shrugging emoji)
But anyway, I really like the framing in this one. Also I love how I did her hair. It's kinda y2k, although I fear the barrettes do not look straight.

I don't like this one as much.

On a side note (because of course I've already run out of things to talk about), my dog's birthday is on Valentine's Day. I love my dog. Valentine's Day is also Draculaura's birthday in Monster High... which leads me to the reminder that MH is allegedly releasing a Kieran Valentine doll finally this year, and I need it so badly. (If ykyk, I guess?)

This photo looks really dark on my Chromebook, so I hope it's not as bad on whatever device you're looking at this on. All the pictures looked good on my iPad and phone, so it's probably okay. I think.

I like this one a lot! I had to crop it because my camera was acting up, but it's gorgeous anyway.

Has anyone seen the Kpop Demon Hunters dolls AG just released? I haven't watched KDH, but the dolls are really, really cute. I honestly want Mira. Having Delmar has convinced me that the Corrine mold is mega photogenic, so I already know there'd be plenty of love for another Corrine mold in my collection.

Oh, random fact: Delmar was standing on the top of Lanie's Camper in my doll room. That room gets the best natural lighting in the house, and I decided that the camper made a good table.

And one last photo! I'm so happy with this one.

And that's all for today! Have a great week and remember to eat your veggies! Bye!
