January Dreams ~ A Photoshoot
Hey everyone! I'm still here, trying to combat my yearly winter lack of motivation. I haven't felt super inspired to take American Girl Doll photos lately... I have tried to "practice" my photography skills, despite this, so I've done a few small photoshoots in my bedroom with other dolls. If you guys are interested in that, I can do a photo dump. But otherwise, I finally have a new photoshoot out today! Let's get into it!
I actually took this picture while I was trying to figure out what settings to put my camera on, but I liked it. The lighting is a *tad* different from the rest of the photos, but I wanted to include it.
I have not taken pictures of Saige in YEARS. She was my dream doll for such a long time, but now that I have her, I hardly touch her. Since I'm trying to reconnect with old dolls, I decided that Saige was my next subject! She is really pretty. I love how her hair is being blown in the wind here.
Guysss... her dress! I made it a while back, and I'm still obsessed. I don't know how well you can see, but it has a slight sweetheart neckline, peasant sleeves, and a tiered calf-length skirt. And the pink flowers on the fabric?? Literally in love.
I love this photo. It was 40 degrees (farenheit) when I was taking these, which... well that isn't super cold, my fingers were numb by the end of this photoshoot and I had the hardest time posing Saige. 😅
I tried to get some leaves in front of her. I like the result.
This one is better, in my opinion! She looks so ethereal.
Saige's hair is frustrating sometimes because I feel like it gets messy as soon as I touch it. I'm happy that it somewhat behaved during this photoshoot.
My main complaint here is that there's one little flyaway in her face. This is also the closest I got to a full-body shot. Oh well. Also I don't know what my auto white balance decided to do here. She looks too yellow-y.
This photo would be perfect if she were looking at the camera!
I don't feel strongly about this photo.
Here? Beautiful. Ethereal. I LOVE how good her curls look here. I could NOT get them to sit the way I wanted, so turned her head to look over her shoulder. Problem solved.
I love this one even more.
HER HAIR. I have no other comments. I mean yes, you can see every flyaway, but the curls themselves are gorgeous.
I've run out of things to say, so I'm just gonna tell a story. So, I was shooting photos for my brother's hockey team a few weeks ago, and I took action shots for 2 of their games, so I shot for probably 2+ hours? I'd never done sports photography before, but I loved doing it. Anyway, the next day, my arms were SO sore, I could NOT lift them up. It was insane. I'm just like, no one told me photography would be a workout?? But aside from that, both the kids and the parents were really excited to get the photos and that made it so worth it. :) For sure though, I will be doing bicep curls to build up some muscle and hopefully not be in as much pain next time I shoot for a long time!
Ending this photoshoot on a high note. This might be my favorite photo... I can't decide. :)
That's all for now! Have a great week and remember to eat your veggies! Bye! <3
I love all of those pictures! Her curls are the goal for my dolls and myself, honestly. That dress looks so adorable! I'd love to see a roundup of all the doll clothes you've made.
ReplyDeleteThank you so much, Regan!
DeleteRight? Like if my hair behaved like that... omg.
I was going to make a roundup of the clothes I've sewn at one point! I started pulling out all my handmade stuff but I think I got overwhelmed with how much there was? I don't really remember why I didn't make the post. Maybe I'll split it up into multiple parts.
✨ stunning as always ✨
ReplyDeleteThank you <3
