Golden Hour Fairy ~ A Photoshoot
Hey guys! I honestly don't know what to write for this intro, so please enjoy these pictures of Rowan!
Okay, very important question before I say anything about the actual photos: did anyone else have the childhood experience of being told the green and purple plants in the picture are edible?? These plants grow all over the place where I'm from and kids used to find them on the playground, pick the flower parts, and suck the nectar out of them. Apparently this plant is called dead nettle and they're completely edible, which is good because I was always worried that we were accidentally eating poison or something.

Okay, now we can get into the real stuff. I took these pictures at the top of a drainage pond at my neighborhood playground. I kept sliding down the hill as I was taking these. It was super funny. I'm pretty happy with the way they turned out!
I decided to go with Rowan as my model because I realized the only time I've ever taken pictures of her alone was when I took her to the Stanley Hotel right after I got her in 2023(!!). Those pictures were taken on the Canon Rebel T5 I took from my mom and really blurry, so I needed to do her justice this time around. She's a Truly Me 112, and from my little bubble, I feel like I don't see many 112s.
Longtime Just Dolling fans know how I feel about daylight savings. I actually didn't get seasonal burnout this winter, but still, with longer days, I'm thriving.
As I'm writing this, it's 37 degrees (that's Fahrenheit, need to clarify because I realize I have readers outside of the US), but it's been much warmer lately! I tried to get a spring vibe in these photos; I feel like they seem more fall, but I still really like them.
Finally a full-body shot to show off the lace on the bottom of this dress! I love this dress and have been telling myself I'm going to make more for months... actually, the last time I used it in a photoshoot was this photoshoot with Delmar, and that was when I was renting a 70-200 2.8 lens. I mentioned at the beginning of the year that I got a new camera lens, but I don't think I said it was a 70-200. I'm so grateful to have it!

She really is majestic. And I love that hair so much. I had a solid plan for who Rowan was when I got her... she was even the main focus in a photo story at one point, but none of that plan for her character has stuck. She gives me fairy vibes in this photoshoot, so maybe that needs to be her vibe instead?
The wind kept knocking her down, and every time, I had to crawl back up the retention pond wall to set her back up. It was annoying. You can see in this photo what my solution to that problem was.
I got a lot of closeups, but since I was lower than her, Rowan is looking above the camera in all of them. In hindsight, I would have liked to get some shots where she was looking directly at the camera.
Here's to hoping my ACT scores come out this week! Maybe by writing something about the ACT on the blog, I can manifest it. 😩 If I can get to my goal math and composite scores, my mom has promised me 2 AG dolls, which... I'm pretty motivated about, ngl.
What other news do I have about my life? Hm... Oh, one morning last week, I woke up to leaks for my most anticipated Monster High release. Like... I've been waiting for news about this set since it was rumored months ago, and I already have money set aside. So it was really exciting to see the prototype images, even though there's no way to know whether or not they're legit.
I'm loving the gold glow! Funny behind the scenes for this shoot: I started trying to prep for these pictures on Saturday morning by picking a doll and getting an outfit, but I got distracted by Lanie's camper and started playing with my dolls like I was nine years old again. It was wonderful, but nothing got done. That afternoon, when I noticed it was golden hour, I threw some stuff together last minute. 😅 It worked out okay!
I'm running out of commentary, even though I feel like I've barely done any critique on the photos themselves. I'm just in a chatty mood, I think.
This is the only other picture I got with the dead nettles. I have a different vibe, but I really like it.
Rowan literally needs fairy wings in these pictures. I should actually do a fairy-themed photoshoot.
Okay, and here's the last one!
That's all for now! Have a great week and remember to eat your veggies! Bye! <3

These are gorgeous, E! So artistic!
